https://prequalification.enerbank.comSoft Inquiries: Broadly speaking, a soft inquiry occurs in cases where you check your own credit or when a lender or credit card company checks your credit to pre-approve you for an offer. Soft inquiries do not impact your credit scores. They are not visible to lenders and are only visible to a consumer when reviewing a copy of their own consumer report.
Hard Inquiries: A hard inquiry occurs when a lender with whom you've applied for credit reviews your credit report as part of their decision-making process. This type of inquiry appears on your credit report and is seen by the consumer and anyone with a permissible purpose to request your credit report. A hard inquiry may have some impact on a credit score. Hard inquiries may stay on a consumer’s credit report for two years, although their impact lessens over time. Depending on your unique credit history, hard inquiries could indicate different things to different lenders. You can read more on this from Equifax.
At the time of credit application, Enerbank uses a soft credit inquiry to establish an applicant’s creditworthiness.
A soft hit does not affect a customer’s credit score.
Once a loan is originated (at the time of the first disbursement) an additional inquiry will be added to the consumer’s file. This inquiry is a hard inquiry. This hard inquiry will be reflected on the customer’s credit report and may impact their credit score.
