Shower Replacement In Franklin Park, PA
Every Shower Pan Is Set In A Heavy Mortar Bed With Advanced Waterproofing Behind The Walls
Non-Porous, High-Density Acrylic Walls With No Grout Lines To Scrub Or Reseal
A worn shower is more than an eyesore. Cracked grout, a soft floor, or a leaking pan lets water reach the framing behind your walls. Once that starts, the damage spreads where you can’t see it.
Shower replacement in Franklin Park, PA fixes the wet area first, the right way. Mt. Pleasant Window & Remodeling Co. has served Greater Pittsburgh since 1975, and we treat the space behind the tile as seriously as the surface you see.
We measure your existing space, confirm the layout, and give you a clear written quote in your home. Our acrylic systems are non-porous and dense, so they don’t soak up moisture like older tile and grout. Then a senior-led crew installs it by the book, with waterproofing you’ll never see but will count on for decades.
How We Handle Shower Replacement In Franklin Park, PA
We follow a set process on every shower replacement in Allegheny County, PA so nothing gets skipped. Here’s what happens from the first visit to the final walkthrough.
We follow a set process on every shower replacement in Allegheny County, PA so nothing gets skipped. Here’s what happens from the first visit to the final walkthrough.

In-Home Measure And Written Quote
We start with a free in-home visit to measure your existing shower and check the space around it. We look at the wall condition, the drain location, and how you use the room. Then we give you an exact written price, not a rough range. This up-front clarity means no surprise charges after work begins, unless we find rot or damage behind the bathtub or shower.
Tear-Out And Moisture Inspection
We remove the old shower and inspect the framing and subfloor underneath. Old showers often hide water damage from failed grout or a cracked pan. Finding it now lets us address it before we build. This step protects your home from rot spreading into wall studs and floor joists, which is the real cost of ignoring a leaking shower unit.
Waterproofing And Mortar-Bed Pan
We build a moisture-proof barrier behind the walls and set the shower pan in a heavy mortar bed, never on standard drywall. The mortar bed gives the pan solid, even support so it won’t flex or crack. This is the hidden work that stops leaks for the long haul. It’s a core part of the Mt. Pleasant Way, and it’s why our showers hold up.
Acrylic Installation And Final Check
We install the non-porous, high-density acrylic walls and seal them with NovaFlex, then a senior manager verifies the work. The acrylic has no grout lines, so there’s nothing to reseal and far less to clean. Photo documentation records each phase. No step moves forward until the one before it passes inspection.
Shower Replacement Options For Your Franklin Park, PA Home
A few real choices shape your new shower. Here’s how to think through them.

Choosing A Walk-In Shower Layout
A walk-in shower opens up the room and makes entry easier, with a low or curbless threshold. It’s a strong pick if you’re planning to stay in your home long-term or want a cleaner, modern look. We’ll confirm your drain and framing support the layout during the in-home measure.
Replacing Your Existing Shower Unit
If your current shower works but looks dated or has failing grout, a direct replacement swaps the whole unit for a non-porous acrylic system. You keep your existing footprint and drain location, which usually keeps the project simpler. The new surface resists mold and skips grout lines entirely.
Considering A Tub-To-Shower Conversion
If you have a tub you never use, converting it to a walk-in shower reclaims the space. It’s popular with homeowners who want easier access and a bigger shower footprint.
Why Choose Mt. Pleasant Window & Remodeling Co. For Shower Replacement In Franklin Park, PA
Here’s what sets our shower work apart from most contractors in Franklin Park, PA.
Here’s what sets our shower work apart from most contractors in Franklin Park, PA.
- Family-Owned Since 1975: The Wrobleski family founded this company in 1975, and it’s now run by the second and third generations. That local track record means the people quoting your shower are the same people who stand behind it. We’re built to be here for the next call, not just this one.
- Senior-Led Installs, No Pop-And-Drop: We refuse “pop-and-drop” shortcuts. A senior installer leads your shower replacement, and a senior manager checks the work before each phase advances. This oversight, part of the Mt. Pleasant Standard, is why the waterproofing and mortar bed get done correctly the first time.
- 150+ Years Of Combined Experience: Our team carries more than 150 years of combined hands-on experience, including 40-year veterans. That depth shows up in the details, like how we handle a hidden leak or an uneven subfloor. Experience is what keeps a shower dry behind the walls for decades.
- Photo Documentation On Every Phase. We record each step of your shower install with photo documentation. You can see the waterproofing and mortar-bed work you’d never otherwise get to inspect. It keeps us honest and gives you proof the hidden work was done to the Mt. Pleasant Standard.
- The Humble Pie Rule: If something isn’t right after the job, we admit it and we fix it. We don’t disappear once the check clears. Built on our four values, Customer First, Care, Candor, and Driven, this is the accountability most shower installers won’t put in writing.

The Roofing Job Was Completed And The Way They Cleaned Up Was Beyond Our Expectations
Pleasant Window company!!…
**update below** Firstly, our salesman was great. Very polite and acted as he knew us forever. We had a great offer and accepted. It only took 3 months for our windows to be made and installed. The 4 days of installation was well worth the outcome. Henry, Joe, Matt, Derek, and Charlie worked diligently to get the project completed. They took out 6 sets of windows to make one big slider window in each space, and installed 4 regular windows. They made sure everything was perfect before leaving. They also put rags a plastic on the floors where they were working. The outside trim (we did black) is beautiful! Better than I ever expected. Our house looks like a different house now with these amazing windows! So we decided might as well finish the job and get our basement windows done too. We ordered 3 sliders and they were ready in a couple months. Joe, Derek, and Henry put them in in one day! They look amazing inside and out. Thank you Mt. Pleasant Window company!!

Shower Replacement FAQs For Franklin Park, PA
Common questions we hear about shower replacement in Franklin Park, PA. Reach out anytime for a straight answer.
Can you convert my bathtub into a walk-in shower?
A: Yes, we do tub-to-shower conversions for homeowners who want to reclaim space or make entry easier. We remove the tub, build the waterproofing and mortar-bed pan, and install a new walk-in acrylic shower. It’s a good fit if you rarely use your tub. We serve all nearby communities.
Do you use tile or acrylic for showers?
A: We install non-porous, high-density acrylic systems, not tile. Acrylic has no grout lines, so there’s nothing to scrub or reseal, and the dense surface resists mold and moisture. It’s easier to clean and holds up better against the Pittsburgh climate than older tile-and-grout showers.
How long does a shower replacement take?
A: Most standard shower replacements are finished in a matter of days, not weeks. The exact timeline depends on the layout and whether we uncover damage behind the old shower. We give you a schedule during your in-home estimate and keep you posted as the work moves along.
How much does a shower replacement cost in Franklin Park, PA?
A: The price depends on a few clear drivers, and we give you an exact written quote after an in-home visit. Cost is shaped by the shower size, your chosen layout, whether we find hidden water damage, and the acrylic system you pick. We measure everything first so the number you get is firm, not a guess.
What happens if you find water damage behind my old shower?
A: We inspect the framing and subfloor during tear-out, and if we find damage, we tell you before we build. Old showers often hide rot from failed grout or a leaking pan. We follow the Candor value and give you an honest look at what we find, along with what it takes to fix it.
What’s behind the walls of my new shower?
A: We build a moisture-proof barrier behind the walls and set the shower pan in a heavy mortar bed. This hidden work is what stops leaks from reaching your framing. We never set a pan on standard drywall, and photo documentation captures every phase so you can see it was done right.
